Bias

Depends on whether a test predicts future behavior for all groups of test-takers, not only for some.

Stereotype Threat

A self-confirming concern that one will be evaluated based on a negative stereotype.

Stereotype Lift

An increase in a group's test performance due to not being part of a negative stereotype.

Girls and Boys Simliarities

Have the same average intelligence scores, hardly differ in math computation and overall math performance.

Girls

Better spellers, more verbally fluent, better at reading, locating objects, detecting emotions, an are more sensitive to touch, taste, and color.

Boys

Outperform girls at spatial ability, complex mathematics, and outnumber girls at the low and high extremes of mental abilities.
