What are the main energy stores?
Thermal, kinetic, gravitational potential, elastic potential, chemical, magnetic, electrostatic and nuclear.
What is the law of conservation of energy?
Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be transferred between stores.

What does it mean when energy is dissipated?
Energy is transferred into less useful stores, usually the thermal store of the surroundings.
What are renewable energy resources?
Resources that are naturally replenished, such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, tidal and geothermal energy.
What are non-renewable energy resources?
Fossil fuels and nuclear fuel. They are finite and will eventually run out.
Give advantages and disadvantages of fossil fuels.
They are reliable and can produce large amounts of energy, but burning them releases carbon dioxide and other pollutants.
Why does increasing the efficiency of a device reduce energy consumption?
More of the input energy is transferred usefully, so less energy needs to be supplied for the same useful output.

The rate of flow of charge.

Total resistance increases.
How does adding another branch in parallel affect total resistance?
Total resistance decreases.
