Simple Random Sample
A sample of a given size n is chosen in such a way that
every possible sample of that size is equally likely to be chosen.
Stratified Sampling
Can reduce sampling variability by identifying
homogeneous subgroups and then randomly sampling within each.
Cluster Sampling
Randomly select among heterogeneous subgroups and
conduct a census within each cluster. This makes sampling tasks easier.
Systemic Sampling
Can work in some situations and often the least
expensive type of sampling.
