What is the Standards-Based Curriculum (SBC)?
Introduced in September 2019 by NaCCA to replace the Objective-Based Curriculum.
What is the aim of the Standards-Based Curriculum (SBC)?
Improve learning outcomes, encourage competency-based learning, and develop students' critical thinking skills.
What are the key features of the SBC?
Focuses on core competencies, promotes learner-centered learning, develops higher-order thinking skills, and integrates literacy across subjects.
What are the six core competencies in the SBC?
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving, Creativity and Innovation, Communication and Collaboration, Cultural Identity and Global Citizenship, Personal Development and Leadership, and Digital Literacy.
What subjects are covered in the SBC at the basic level?
English Language, Mathematics, Science, Our World Our People (OWOP), Creative Arts, Ghanaian Language, Religious and Moral Education (RME), History, and Physical and Health Education (PHE).
What teaching and learning approaches does the SBC promote?
Learner-Centered Approaches, Play-Based Learning, Inquiry-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and Collaborative Learning.
What are the types of assessment used in the SBC?
Formative Assessment, Summative Assessment, and Portfolio Assessment.

Early grade schools, upper primary schools, Junior High Schools, Senior High Schools, Technical and Vocational Institutions, and Special Schools.
What is Financing Pre-Tertiary Education?
Financial and in-kind resources available for pre-tertiary education.
What is the need for Pretertiary Education Financing?
To determine expenses and revenues, improve access and ensure quality education, and regulate private providers.
What are the sources of Funding for Pre-Tertiary education?
