you can hypodermically inject it or soak the limb in embalming fluid to preserve it

when embalming of a severed limb is complete, what should you do?

all vessels should be ligated and exposed tissue areas should be dried and sealed with sealer 

how should you treat a limb after suturing it to the main body of the decedent?

cover sutures with sealer, coat with cotton, then another layer of sealer

what can you use to position and extend severed limbs?

metal, wooden or plastic rods

what piece of metal could you use inside the arm of a decedent to position it more naturally?

the straight part of a coat hanger
