Saturated Solution
A solution that contains the MAXIMUM amount of solute that can be dissolved in the solvent
Supersaturated Solution
a solution that contains MORE of the dissolved solute than could be dissolved by the solvent under normal circumstances (usually temperature)
Unsaturated Solution
A solution that contains LESS than the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved in the solvent.
Solubility Curve
A graph that shows how the solubility of substance changes as temperature changes in specific amount of water usually 100 g (or mL)
Solution
A homogeneous mixture of two or more substances uniformly dispersed through a single phase.
Solute
minor component in a solution, dissolved in the solvent.
Solvent
The substance doing the dissolving, usually the component of a solution in the greater amount.
Crystallizes
The process of forming crystals (a reaction)
Dissolve
To be abosrbed into a liquid (Influenced by Stirring, Temperature, and Surface Area)
Precipitate
cause (a substance) to be deposited in solid form from a solution.
Line in Graph
Represents the Solubility in the Graph
Solubility
The ability of a solid, liquid, or gaseous to dissolve in solvent and form a solution
