A criminal who specializes in stealing, trading, and using stolen credit cards over the internet.
Baseband
A high-speed transmission medium that connects computers close to one another but can only carry one signal at a time.

A communication channel that allows simultaneous message exchange in both directions, such as a mobile phone call.

A local area network that uses radio signals (WiFi) to connect computers instead of cables.

A network architecture where each device is connected to two other devices, forming a circle.
Bluetooth
A short-range radio frequency communication technology that is cheap and connects devices within a range of 10m.
Star network
A network form that can be used to provide a time-sharing system where several users share resources on a central computer.
Big Data
Technologies and initiatives involving data that is too diverse, fast-changing, or massive for conventional infrastructure to address efficiently.
Hybrid Cloud
A cloud model that combines the advantages of both public and private cloud models.
Dropbox
A cloud storage service offering 2GB of free storage, which can be increased to 16GB through referrals.
In-House data centre
A facility designed, built, and operated by an organization internally to sustain operations without third-party involvement.
Coaxial cable
A physical medium with a solid copper core that is approximately 80 times faster in transmitting data than a twisted pair.
Fiber-optic cable
A backbone cable that transmits data as pulses of light through glass tubes, capable of transmitting data approximately 26,000 times faster than twisted pair.
WiMax
A technology enabling microwave communication over a maximum distance of 30 miles.
