Urban Area

The region surrounding a city, including towns, cities, and suburbs, where most inhabitants have nonagricultural jobs.

Urbanization

A global phenomenon that has contributed to progressive development, but also poses challenges in infrastructure, health, environmental and social problems, informal settlements, disaster vulnerability, and threats to water and food security.

Rural Area

Areas with low population density and large amounts of undeveloped land, often referred to as "the country."

Typology

The creation of an archive of certain types related to architecture styles, either by reducing them to their elementary geometrical nature or by exploring the combination possibilities of architectural elements to classify types.

Housing Typology

The different physical characteristics of a building based on factors such as available materials, climate, culture, social status, political views, economy, etc.

Housing (RA 1120)

A multi-dimensional concept encompassing the process of residing and the objects of dwelling, including location, access to livelihood, tenure arrangements, cost, physical structure, and environment.

Human Settlements (RA 1120)

Comprises the physical components of shelter and infrastructure, as well as the services they support, such as education, health, culture, welfare, recreation, and nutrition.

Urban Housing

Apart from providing shelter, it is seen as a means of accessing employment, livelihood, urban and community services, and desirable neighbors.
