A reaction in which an acid reacts with a base to form a salt and water.
What is the general equation for neutralisation?
Acid + base → salt + water
What does it mean when a base "neutralises" an acid?
The base cancels/reduces the acidic properties of the acid through a chemical reaction.
What are the products of a neutralisation reaction?
Salt + water
What is the key reaction pattern to memorise?
ACID + BASE → SALT + WATER
