Badminton
A net game played on a rectangular court, involving singles and doubles disciplines.
The objective of badminton
To score points by landing the shuttlecock in the opponent's court.
Components of Badminton movements
Includes split step, running step, chasse, hop/pivot, landing, lunge, and recovery.
Service rules for Singles
When the server's score is even, serve from the right court; when odd, serve from the left.
Scoring system
A match consists of the best of 3 games of 21 points, with a point scored every serve.
Let service
Occurs when the serve is disrupted by external factors, resulting in a replay.
Doubles service rules
In doubles, the serving side has only one service, and they switch sides only after winning a point.
Types of grips in badminton
Basic grip (v grip), panhandle grip, thumb grip, and corner grip.
Service faults
Include failing to hit the shuttlecock below the waist and serving from an incorrect position.
Faults during play
Involves hitting the shuttlecock into the net, touching the net, or contacting the shuttlecock multiple times.
