Tell me a time you helped someone

At my old job in primark i was working at the tills and noticed there was a gentleman in a mobility scooter at the end of the tills by himself, initially i figured he was with the customers that was near him at the till clostest to him and it wasnt until i those customers left that he was by himself i walked up to him and asked him what was wrong, and he said hes waititng for a co worker to find him some items from upstairs but as he had been waititng for a decent 15 minutes i asked him to describe the worker and he describe a co worker that i knew had clocked out 20 minutes ago, and i know this beacuase i she said goodbye to me when she wait leavung so the man was just waiting for nothing and so i asked him what he was looking for and took some receipt paper and wrote down a list and i went upstairs and found everything he needed and gave him a options to pick from colours and in the end he picked the items he anted and i served him and packed his tiems into the mobility scooter

Why do you want to work for tesco

I am enthusiastic about working at tesco for two main reasons. Firstly, tescos renowned dedication to customer satisfaction aligns perfectly with my passion for delivering exeptional services and experinces to customers, my secondary school was right nect to a tesco extra and nearly every moring for seven years my friends and i would have covosations with the workers about life, school and it was always a positive encounter. from all my previous customer facing jobs i am confident that i have the necessary skills, qualities and attrivutws to ensure i maintain the excelent core purpose of a tesco collegue especially knowing the customers and serving them with pride. and especially in a tesco express where community is best seen as theres only so many customers that come in. Tescos commitment to sustainalbility, affordabilitu and community engadgement deeply resonates with my valeues esp the bcs ( people shouldnt be denied luxuires due to price, community creates a sense of belonging and i tell everyone to invest in a reusable water) Working at Tesco will allow me to combine my dedication to customer satisfaction with my passion for sustainability and community involvement. I believe that my skills, values, and enthusiasm make me an ideal fit for Tesco

strength and weakness

one of my strenths would be communication skills, ive been working in teams for most of my life whether it was when i was a retail assistant at primark, crew memebr in maccas or when i would play netball and handball with my teammates and i think from doing that, i was able to hone my communication skills and have interpersonal skills due to communication being an integral feature of a great team. I belive that clear and open communicatin is crutial in any enviroment that involves teamwork, wther wor, d of e or sports. i activley listen to others, pay attention to their concerns and needs and it enables me to prove comprehensive reponsives and solutions to any problems. this strenth enables me to collaborate effectibly with my collegues. For a weakness, i would say that i worry about the details too much and it effects my time managment skills for instance in priark, hangers, firts couple of shifts picking up hangers, manager told me not to be so concernsed about it and focus on my section. however i learnt to implement startergies to emliminate such weakess such as setting clear priorites and strickly adhering to them.

time i worked well under pressure

when i worked in mcondlads i was onn batch frying and it was a seemigly quiet eveing until we had an order for 9 mcplant sandwitches along with two large orders i think it was 4 big macs and 3 wraps and new promotional items and there was multiple new people on the assemly line and on top of that theres only three mcplant patties that are kept in the heating tray at once, so i had to create a steady level whilst making more patties and briefly show the new hires how to do the promotional items in the end with the help of people who worked at the front, we completed the order with communication and patience

a time i demnstated teamwork

one time at primark, a customer came with three filled shopping bags worth of items alg with other items she was going to return/exchage and we were closing in5 minutes so as my section was organined and i knew that it wouldnt get any more messy due to a lack of customers, i called on my other coworker to come to tills with me to help the only babe so she woulddnt have to leave later as it was known she took the bus to work and the three of us took a shopping bag each and finished the womans items in 15 minutes, 5 minutes past store clsoing time and throught it we all demonstrated teamwork alonf with comminication skills.

tell me a time you faced conflict

i was dealing with a customer and i had my natural hair out and i couldn help her as her itmes she wanted to return was stained, and passed the due date and she didnt have the receipt for the other items and went to complain to my coworder whilst i was on break who also couldnt help her, and she refered to me as the ‘worker with the raggedy hair’ which when i found out i took offence to as there was nothing raggedy about my hair it was a plai afro? and the worker came up to me and told me what she said and i asked her what she said and she said nothing and just laugh and albiet i didnt expect her to go to war for me but i didnt expect her to agree with the customers comment and so i left it but it kept bugging me and ill speak up about something if its still affecting me the next day so before our shifts i pulled her to the side and told her how i felt about the customers comment and her response as there was nothng raggdy about my natural state and she quickly apologised and explained that she herself was nervous and uncomfortable and didnt know what to say and we went oabout our sifts.

name a time you had to adapt to a situation

when i first started working at primark a seasoned worker who always worked in shoes, fell sick mid shift and had to go and the manager on the shift assinged me to the shoe section however i had never worked there before as i mainly worked at the tills and in the 30 minutes he wasnt there, the shoes secton become a mess and so i had to quicly learn the best way to maintain the shoe section and had to experiment with different approaches, whether i started witht he shoes on the racks and prop them u or start with the shoes on the floor or orgaiese all the single shoes and start putting them on the approate hangers and by the end of y shift i adapted and got the hang of it and the shoe section was in pristine value
