Analogous colors
groups of three or four colors that are next to each other on the color wheel
Vertical line
Leads the eyes up, adding height, formality and strength. Makes room seem more spacious and ceiling seem bigger than they actually are
Horizontal line
Leads the eyes left or right. Make space seem wider or shorter
Diagonal line
suggest action, movement and excitement. Can be overpowering and tiring, use sparingly.
Curved line
add a softening graceful effect. Too many can become too busy
