What happened?

The Catholic Faction accused him of being a heretic and wanted him arrestedZ henry had warned him and gave him a ring of trust

Evidence that Henry was in control?

Gave him the ring and put him back in control of investigating himself.

What other evidence shows that he was in control?

Some have argued that; as with Norfolk, the King had stood by a loyal servant and have used this as to say he was in full control and could not be manipulated

Evidence that Henry was not in control?

Henry could if prevented the case from developing and thus avoided the fear that Cranmer must of felt when he was arrested
