What is a Decomposition reaction?
AB→A+B.
What is a Single Displacement reaction?
A+BC→AC+B.
What is a Double Displacement reaction?
AB+CD→AD+BC.
What indicates that a chemical reaction has taken place?
Change in colour, smell, bubbles, temperature change, and change of state.
What is a carbonic acid salt known as?
A carbonate.
What is the general word equation for a carbonate reaction?
Acid + carbonate → salt + water + carbon dioxide.
Which metal is the least reactive?
Gold.
What is a nugget?
A pure lump of a precious metal.
What are the products formed in a reaction with a metal and acid?
A salt and hydrogen.
What is an example of oxidation in an equation?
‘metal’ + oxygen → ‘metal’ oxide.
What is precipitation in chemical reactions?
A reaction in which substances in a solution are mixed and an insoluble product is formed.
What does the conservation of mass state?
You can't create or destroy atoms.
Modules of chemical reactions
If it has 1 electron it has 7 hands because it needs 7 more to get to 8
