Revolution in thought during the 18th century which prioritized reason and science over the authority of traditional religion

Deism

Enlightenment inspired belief in which it’s thought that god withdrew after making the world, allowing it to be ran using reason and scientific laws without divine intervention

Great Awakening (period 3 one)

Religious revival in the 1720s-1740s that was spread throughout the colonies by ministers like New England Congregationalist Jonathan Edwards and English revivalist George Whitefield. Basiclally because of the rationalism of Enlightenment

Revivalists (Revivals or wtv you wanna call it)

People who went about actually preaching for the Great Awakening, essentially preaching that if you don’t ask for forgiveness after thinking of Enlightenment ideas you gonna burn and that would stink

Missionary who began and directed the California mission system in the 1770-80s. Presided over the conversion of many Indians to Christianity, sometimes by force.
