Level 1 Generative AI Use

A level where AI is NOT used in assignment completion and no Generative AI is allowed. AI use is considered plagiarism and may require an academic honesty pledge confirming AI was not used.

Level 2 Generative AI Use

A level where AI supports Ideation. AI can be used to generate ideas, brainstorm, or inspire new directions, provided AI use is cited, sources are disclosed, and specified allowed tools are used.

Level 3 Generative AI Use

A level where AI supports Improvement. AI can be used to refine, edit, and improve the quality of work, requiring clear delineation between student work and AI assistance, proper attribution, and disclosure of sources.

Level 4 Generative AI Use

A level where AI assists Creation. AI can play a significant role in the creation process, including drafting and designing, requiring detailed documentation of AI use and an evident student role.

Level 5 Generative AI Use

A level where AI assists ALL STAGES of work. AI can be used throughout the entire process, from start to finish, with no restrictions, requiring full transparency, comprehensive attribution, and student reflection on AI's impact.
