Artificial Intelligence
The ability of a computer to do tasks that are usually done by humans because they require human intelligence.
Biases
An anomaly in the output of machine learning algorithms due to prejudiced assumptions made during the algorithm development process or prejudices in the training data.
Deep Learning
A type of machine learning that runs inputs through a biologically-inspired neural network architecture.
General AI
The intelligence of machines that allows them to comprehend, learn, and perform intellectual tasks much like humans.
Generative Artificial Intelligence
Algorithms (such as ChatGPT) that can create new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos.
Machine Learning
Algorithms that detect patterns and learn how to make predictions, recommendations, and decisions.
Narrow AI
A specific type of AI designed to perform a single task, with knowledge gained not automatically applied to other tasks.
Natural Language Processing (NLP)
The branch of artificial intelligence concerned with giving computers the ability to understand text and spoken words.
Neural Networks
A system that functions like the human brain, where each neuron performs simple calculations contributing to the overall potential of calculations.
Supervised Learning
Learning where the machine relies on human intervention for knowledge and validation of improvements.
Unsupervised Learning
Learning that does not require human validation; the machine performs research, identifies knowledge, and memorizes it independently.
Business Innovation
An enterprise’s culture and process for introducing new services or products.
Divergence
Looking at a problem or issue from a different perspective.
Disruptive
New technology or business model that changes the existing market.
Ideation
The process of forming ideas from conception to implementation, typically in a business context.
Incremental
Gradual, continuous improvement on existing products or services.
Innovation
The process of translating an idea into a good or service that creates value for which customers will pay.
Radical
A breakthrough that transforms an industry and/or creates a new market.
Sustaining
Significant improvement to maintain existing market share.
