reminder for reciprocal functions
you can always sub in 1/cos for sec, or vice versa, or any of the other trig functions if you are solving using a formula that doesn’t have sec, cot, or csc
simplifying proofs
make sure that you write what exactly you are doing when simplifying!

why cant sec equal 1? because when the denominator (sec²x-1) is equal to zero, if you solve, those are the solutions that don’t work. so if you multiply the denominator by zero make sure u indicate the solutions dont work.
when you square root something
YOU NEED PLUS MINUS PLEASE DONT FORGET
what is the difference between finding “all solutions” and finding solutions within a restriction
all solutions means having the solution + the period (n), restrictions means finding the solutions within that restriction, no lists
explain how to solve this in two ways

explain how to solve this in two ways
how to find the period….
unless there is a number attached to the theta/x, you just go off of regular rules. so sin, cos, csc, and sec have 2pi as their period, for cot and tan its just pi
explain this, and also explain why u have to check
explain this
looking for solutions in the interval (0, pi). remember that the 2pi in the “all solutions” is always that way.
