Why is serving size important?

What are Daily Values based on?
A 2,000-calorie diet.
What percentage of Daily Value is considered low?
5% or less.
What percentage of Daily Value is considered high?
20% or more.
What does 5% DV or less mean?
The food is considered low in that nutrient.
What does 20% DV or more mean?
The food is considered high in that nutrient.
How are ingredients listed on a food label?
In descending order by weight.
What does descending order by weight mean?
The ingredient present in the greatest amount by weight is listed first.
What does the Nutrition Facts panel provide?
Information about macronutrients and certain vitamins and minerals.
