RP1 - Making salts

Step 1/8

Measure 20cm3 of the acid with a measuring cylinder and pour into beaker

Step 2/8

Heat the acid gently with a bunsen burner

Step 3/8

Add small amount of the insoluble base in excess until it stops disappearing

Step 4/8

Filter using filter paper and funnel to remove excess

Step 5/8

Pour the solution into the evaporating basin

Step 6/8

Gently evaporate solution in a water bath until crystals start to form

Step 7/8

Leave to cool

Step 8/8

Pat dry with filter paper
