The percentage derived by dividing the wholesale amount of the merchandise by retaik price of the merchandise

Consumer Value Index

The method where the markup multiplied by a constant factor. The same markup is applied to all caskets.

Fixed multiple

That portion of the casket shell containing the top body molding, body panel, base molding, and casket body

Body

The uppermost part of the cap, extending from the rim to rim; everything above the rim

Crown

The wedge shaped portion of the cap at each end of the crown

Pie (fishtail)

The horizontal portion of the top body molding where the gasket is placed on gasketed protective casket

Top body molding flange

All the parts that compose the cap and body of the casket

shell

This is found on cut top of gasketed caskets; the function is to hold the transverse gasket to seal the space between the head and foot

Gasket channel

A molding along the uppermost edge of the body panels

Top body molding

Molding along the lower most edge on the body panels

base molding

The focal part of the interior, which fills the inside of the crown or uppermost part of the cap

Cap panel

This is a component of the casket interior that wraps over the top body molding. The _ is purely for aesthetic value

This type of interior material is drawn in parallel strips and sewn with multiple needles

Shirred

A casket in which the rim (ogee), crown and pies are formed as one unit with a transverse cut in the cap, forming a two piece lid for the casket

Perfection Half Couch

A component part of the casket interior which lines the rim (ogee) and surrounds the cap panel

Roll

The portion of the casket upon which the deceased human remains are placed

bed

A thin crinkled cloth of silk, rayon, or wool

Crepe

The aesthetic covering for the foot cap or inner foot pael of the casket

Throw

A casket in which the cap is in two pieces; the rim (ogee) and foot panel is one piece which is hinged to the top body molding; and the head panel being the second pieces which is hinged to the rim (ogee)

Single hinged

That portion of the casket interior covering that attach the casket cap to the casket body
