Bilateral

Contralateral

happening on or relating to the opposite side of the body

Ipsilateral

occurring on, affecting, or situated on the same side of the body

Unilateral

affecting, occurring on, or pertaining to only one side of the body

Transverse

a horizontal line or plane that divides the body into upper (superior) and lower (inferior) sections

Dorsal

toward or relating to the back or posterior portion of the body

Prone

lying flat on your stomach with your face directed downward

Coronal

an imaginary vertical line that divides the body into front (anterior) and back (posterior) sections

Supine

lying flat on your back with your face, chest, and torso facing upward

a vertical line that divides the body or body part into right and left sections
