Sum
The result obtained by adding two or more numbers together, the sum
Difference
the result obtained by subtracting one quantity from another quantity
Factors
in multiplication, the numbers being multiplied together
Multiplier
a number by which another number is multiplied. The factor by which something is multiplied or extended
Quotient
the number resulting from the division of one number by another
Numerator
the part of a fraction that illustrates a portion of something that makes up a whole. Decimals = numerator is right of decimal, Fraction = number above the line (above denominator)
Ratio
the relationship between one number and another number expressed as a fraction. A proportion
Variable
an unknown numerical quantity, represented by a letter in algebraic equation
Area
number of square units in a surface
Right Triangle
a triangle where one of the angles is 90 degrees
Radius
The distance between the center of a circle or sphere to its outer circumference; one half the diameter of the circle
Circumference
The linear distance around a circle. Circumference is always pi times the length of the diameter of the circle
Diameter
the length of a chord passing through the center of a circular body
Cylinder
a geometric shape having ends of a circular form and parallel sides
Sphere
a geometric shape enclosed by a surface on which all points are equal distance from an enclosed point (center)

basic length of measurement in metric system (39.37 inches)

Atom
smallest particle of an element, consisting of a positively charged nucleus orbited by one or more negatively charged electrons

inherent power or the capacity for performing work. When a portion of matter is stationary,, or energy dealing with position is potential, motion is kinetic
