Stereotype

A social perception of an individual based on group membership or physical attributes.

Or

A generalization made about a group of people and then attributed to members of that group.

Stereotype Threat

When one is in a situation where there is threat that of being judged or treated stereotypically, or a fear of doing something that would confirm this stereotype.

Spotlight Anxiety

Emotional distress and pressure that may undermine performance, that occurs as a result of stereotype threat.

Memory Distortion

The incorrect changing of memory information. This can be a result of stereotyping when someone wrongly remembers information about an individual or group that is congruent with a stereotype.
