Beginning Letter

Rhyming Words
Words that have the same ending sound, such as "cat" and "hat", "mop" and "top", "cut" and "nut", or "lip" and "rip".

A mathematical visualization tool used to represent numbers by drawing dots within a 2×5 grid.
Tally Marks
A way of representing numbers using vertical and diagonal lines to count quantities.
Numeral
A symbol used to represent a number, such as 1, 10, or 13.
Number Word
The name of a number written out in alphabetic characters, such as "one".
Square
A primary geometric shape that students learn to identify, trace, and draw.
Five-frame
A mathematical tool consisting of five squares used to help students visualize combinations that equal 5.
Number Sentence
A mathematical equation, such as +=5, used to represent addition or subtraction facts.
Subtraction
A mathematical operation of taking one number away from another, such as 10−4=6 or 2−1=1.
