Line
A mark with length and direction, can be thick, thin, curved, straight, horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
Shape
A two-dimensional area with a defined boundary, can be geometric or organic.
Form
A three-dimensional object with volume, having height, width, and depth.
Space
The area around, between, and within objects, including positive and negative space.
Value
The lightness or darkness of a color, creating emphasis and depth.
Texture
The surface quality or feel of an object, can be tactile or visual.
Color
The hue of an object, defined by its light reflection, properties include hue, intensity, and value.
Balance
The distribution of visual weight in artwork, can be symmetrical, asymmetrical, or radial.
Contrast
The use of opposing elements to create visual interest and variety.
Emphasis
The focal point in an artwork that draws attention, achieved through various means.
Movement
The path the viewer’s eye follows in an artwork, often created through repetition or line.
Pattern
The repetition of elements in a predictable way.
Rhythm
A visual tempo or beat created by repeating elements or patterns.
Unity
A sense of wholeness or completeness in a work of art, where elements feel cohesive.
Non-Objective Art
Art that does not represent real objects, focusing on elements like color and shape.
Hierarchy
The arrangement of elements to show importance, making key elements stand out.
Alignment
The arrangement of elements to visually align them for a cohesive design.
Repetition
Repeating visual elements to create unity and consistency in design.
White Space
The empty space around design elements that helps reduce clutter.
Layers in Photoshop

Linear Perspective
A technique to create the illusion of depth in a two-dimensional artwork.
Vanishing Point
The point where parallel lines appear to converge in linear perspective.
One-Point Perspective
All lines converge to a single vanishing point in this perspective.
Point of View
The angle or position from which a viewer observes the subject in artwork.

Looking down on the subject from above.
Rule of Thirds
A compositional guideline dividing an image into a 3x3 grid for balance.
