Simple Present

Used for actions happening every day, every week (habits and routines), and for facts that are always true.

Present Continuous

Used for actions happening right now, at this exact minute, or when using commands like "Look!" or "Listen!".

Simple Present Signal Words

always, usually, often, sometimes, never, every day, on Mondays, once a week.

Present Continuous Signal Words

now, right now, at the moment, Look!, Listen!, today, these days, still.

Simple Present Affirmative (He/She/It)

The verb takes the suffix -s/es; patterns include play -> plays, watch -> watches (-s,-sh,-ch,-x,-o + es), and study -> studies (consonant+y -> ies).

Simple Present Negative Form

I / You / We / They + don't + fiil; He / She / It + doesn't + fiil. (The verb returns to its original form without -s).

Simple Present Question Form

Do + I/you/we/they + fiil? or Does + he/she/it + fiil? Short answers use "Yes, I do / No, I don't" or "Yes, she does / No, she doesn't".

Present Continuous Affirmative Form

Subject + am / is / are + fiil-ing (e.g., I am playing, She is reading, We are having).

Present Continuous Negative Form

Subject + am / is / are + not + fiil-ing. Common contractions include I'm not, isn't, and aren't.

Present Continuous Question Form

Am / Is / Are + subject + fiil-ing? Examples include "Are you listening?" or "What are you doing?".
