What is style/movement

The period that an art piece was made, usually art in the same movement/culture have similar characteristics

Formal elements

The visible parts/elements of the work that artists use to uniquely create their piece

Composition

How the work is arranged, if it’s stable or unstable, dynamic or not , full of movement or not, static or not

Pose

If the work has figures, are their proportions believable, realistic, what the poses look like. Are their multiple figures and how do they relate/ do they interact. Is it active, calm, graceful, stiff, tense, relaxed. Do the figures convey a mood.

Space

How is space conveyed. What is the relation of the main figure to the space around it. Are main figures entirely within the space or are parts of the bodies cut off by the edge of the artwork. Is the setting illusionistic, as if it’s like one could not pass through the painting or is it flat and two dimensional, a space that one could not possibly enter
