A Guide to Transposition in the Woodwind/Brass instruments
EXAMPLES
Trumpet in Bb: A trumpet reads a C, but it sounds like a Bb. In order to read a C, they must read in the key a MAJOR 2ND above C Major to sound a C. For example, to read a C in C Major, it will be read as a D in D Major.
Horn in F: A horn reads a C, but it sounds like an F. In order to read a C, they must read in the key a PERFECT 5TH above C Major to sound a C. For example, to read a C in C Major, it will be read as a G in G Major.
A Guide to Transposition in the Alto Clef
These are all the same note:

To transpose from BASS to ALTO clef, transpose the whole melody DOWN an octave and then move it UP one step on the staff.

A Guide to Transposition from Guitar

When transposing concert pitch to how it would be read by a guitarist, notate it UP an octave.
