Spleen
Organ located in the upper left abdomen involved in filtering blood, removing old or damaged red blood cells, storing platelets, and producing white blood cells for the immune system.
Gallbladder
Small organ located beneath the liver, responsible for storing and concentrating bile produced by the liver, and releasing bile into the small intestine to aid in the digestion of fats.
Skin
The largest organ of the body, serving as a protective barrier against pathogens, regulating body temperature, synthesizing vitamin D, and detecting sensations such as touch, pressure, and temperature.
Kidneys
Pair of bean-shaped organs located in the abdominal cavity responsible for filtering waste products and excess fluids from the blood to form urine, as well as regulating electrolyte balance, blood pressure, and red blood cell production.
Stomach
Muscular organ located in the upper abdomen responsible for storing and breaking down food through mechanical and chemical digestion by secreting gastric juices and enzymes.
Small Intestine
Long, coiled tube in the abdominal cavity where most of the digestion and absorption of nutrients occur, consisting of three parts: duodenum, jejunum, and ileum.
Large Intestine (Colon)
The final portion of the digestive tract, responsible for absorbing water and electrolytes from undigested food, forming and storing feces, and facilitating the elimination of waste from the body.
Pancreas
Dual-function organ located behind the stomach responsible for producing digestive enzymes and hormones, such as insulin and glucagon, which regulate blood sugar levels.
Brain
The control center of the body, responsible for processing sensory information, coordinating body movements, regulating vital functions, and controlling thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Heart
A muscular organ that pumps oxygen-rich blood throughout the body via the circulatory system, supplying oxygen and nutrients to tissues and organs.
Lungs
Pair of organs responsible for oxygen exchange and carbon dioxide removal in the respiratory system, allowing for the intake of oxygen from the air and the release of carbon dioxide from the body.
Liver
Large organ located in the upper right abdomen responsible for detoxification, metabolism of nutrients, synthesis of proteins, storage of glycogen, and production of bile for digestion.
