Lymph Node Calcification
The presence of calcium deposits in lymph nodes usually as a result of past infections or inflammation.
Tonsilloliths
Calcifications that form in the tonsillar crypts due to debris accumulation and chronic inflammation.
Dystrophic Calcification
Calcification in damaged or necrotic tissue due to inflammation.
Idiopathic Calcification
Calcium deposits in normal tissues without an inflammatory process or systemic disturbance.
Medial Calcific Sclerosis
A type of vascular calcification affecting the tunica media of blood vessels, often related to diabetes.
Calcified Atherosclerotic Plaque
Deposits that occur within the lumen of blood vessels associated with cardiovascular disease.
Sialoliths
Calcifications associated with salivary glands, often due to blockage and altered saliva flow.
Cysticercosis
An infection caused by the pork tapeworm, leading to inflammatory calcifications in tissues.
Osteoma
Bone formation that may occur due to chronic inflammation in the skin or underlying tissues.
Myositis Ossificans
A condition where bone forms within muscle tissue, often due to trauma.
Flavoliths
Calcifications that occur in venous structures, similar to sialoliths, typically due to venous malformations.
Rhinoliths and Antraliths
Calcifications in the nose (rhinoliths) or in the sinuses (antraliths) resulting from foreign body irritation.
