Simple Present Tense Usage
Used for daily routines, habits, and facts.
I, you, we, they
Subjects that use the base form of the verb without adding an s or es (e.g., I read, we walk, they write).
He, she, it
Subjects that require adding s or es to the main verb (e.g., she reads, he runs).
Common time expressions
Phrases used with the simple present tense including every day, every week, always, and often.
Ahmed
A singular subject used with the verb 'checks' (e.g., Ahmed checks his email every morning).
My sister
A singular subject used with the verb 'studies' (e.g., My sister studies at UPMs).
The lecturer
A singular subject used with the verb 'explains' (e.g., The lecturer explains).
The university
A singular subject used with the verb 'organizes'.
My classmate
A singular subject used with the verb 'submits'.
The campus bus (singular)
A singular noun that requires the verb 'arrives' (e.g., The campus bus arrives at 07:30).
The campus buses (plural)
A plural subject that uses the verb 'arrive' without an s.
Sara
A singular noun used with the verb 'reads' (e.g., Sara reads before going to bed).

When the noun is singular, the verb takes an 's' (e.g., the campus bus arrives).
