Integer
Positive and negative whole numbers and zero.
Absolute Value
The distance between a number and 0 on a number line.
Deposit
A positive amount of money added to an account.
Withdraw
A negative amount of money subtracted from an account.
Mean
The average value of a set of numbers, calculated by summing the numbers and dividing by the count.
Adding Integers
Combining integers according to their signs; if signs are the same, add; if different, subtract.
Dividing Integers
Dividing integers while determining if the result is positive or negative based on the signs of the numbers.
Subtracting Integers
Changing subtraction to addition by using the opposite of the second number.
Change in Account Balance
The difference in the amount of money in an account after deposits and withdrawals.
Mean Hourly Change
The average change in a value per hour over a specified time period.

The absolute value of -4 is 4.
If you deposit $100 into your account and withdraw $40, what is the change in your account balance?

What is the mean of the numbers 2, 4, 6, 8?
The mean is (2 + 4 + 6 + 8) / 4 = 5.
Calculate the result of -7 + 9.
The result is -7 + 9 = 2.
What is -12 ÷ 3?
The result is -4.
If your initial account balance is $250 and you withdraw $75, what is your new balance?
The new balance is $250 - $75 = $175.
Determine the mean hourly change if the hourly changes are: 2, -1, 3, -2 over 4 hours.
Mean hourly change = (2 - 1 + 3 - 2) / 4 = 0.5.

The result is -15 + 5 = -10.
