A tissue characterized by thickening at the corners of cells which provides flexibility to young stems.

A specialized tissue that helps in photosynthesis.

Aerenchyma

A tissue mainly found in aquatic plants to assist with buoyancy or gas exchange.

Xylem

A conducting tissue responsible for the transport of water.

Xylem parenchyma

The living component of the xylem tissue.

Companion cells

Specialized cells that occur within phloem tissue.

Squamous epithelium

The epithelial tissue that lines blood capillaries.

Glandular epithelium

The type of epithelial tissue that forms glands.

Ligaments

Connective tissue that connects bone to bone.

Adipose tissue

A type of connective tissue that stores fat.

A substance that provides strength and hardness to cells, particularly in sclerenchyma.

The conducting tissue responsible for transporting prepared food in plants.

A structure formed by xylem and phloem occurring together.

Cuboidal epithelium

The epithelial tissue that lines kidney tubules.

Tendons

Connective tissue that connects muscle to bone.

The functional unit of the nervous system and the longest cell in the human body.

A fluid connective tissue.

Plasma

The fluid part of blood.
