Natural propagation
Males and females are placed together in breeding area such as tanks where they spawn naturally
Semi natural propagation
Female fish are given injection of chemical such as pituitary gland extract to induce spawning , then placed in an enclosed breeding area until spawning occurs
Artificial propagation
Female fish are given one or more injection or chemical to induce the ripening of dormant eggs in the ovaries , eggs are artificially fertilized with sperm obtained from male
