Phylum

Invertebrates and vertebrates are further subdivided into smaller groups called pural phyla singular phylum

Exoskeleton

A hard outer casing found on invertebrates like insects and spiders

Porifera

They hv a cylindrical shaped body full of pores ,there is a single large pore at the top

Water in the form of small organisms enter through the pores and go out through the central pore at the top

Coelenterata (Cnidaria)

A phylum of aquatic, soft-bodied invertebrates featuring hollow sac bodies, radial symmetry, and specialized stinging cells.

Have tentacles tht help in swimming and catching food

Cnidoblasts

Specialized cells that have stinging structures, these aid in the capture of prey by paralysing then with a poisonous substance

Tentacles

The mouth is surrounded by many finger like projections called tentacles which help in swimming and catching foo

Radial Symmetry

A body which doesn't have a left and right side

Platyhelminthes

Flatworms having soft, flat, leaf-like bodies with hooks and suckers for host attachment.

Tapeworm

A parasitic flatworm that infests the human intestine

Nematoda

Unsegmented roundworms with long, thin bodies tapering at both ends having a tube like digestive system

Annelida

Segmented worms with soft, ringed bodies that breathe through moist body surfaces examples are leeches

Invertebrates

Animals tht don't hv backbone

Mollusca

A phylum of soft-bodied animals divided into a head, visceral mass, and muscular foot, often protected by a hard shell.

Visceral Mass

Visceral mass contains the internal organs.

Muscular Foot (Mollusca)

Is the muscular lower part of the body which is in contact with the ground.

Muscular foot is the organ of locomotion
