Roaring Flame
Used for heating strongly; Blue flame
Safety Flame
Used when the Bunsen burner is on but not in use
Independent Variable
The one thing you change in an experiment; Limit to only one
Dependent Variable
The change that happens because of the independent variable.
Controlled Variables
Things to remain constant and unchanging during an experiment.
Observation
Make an observation of something
Question
Ask a question based on your observation
Hypothesis
An explanation that needs investigating
Experiment
Conduct an experiment to test your hypothesis
Results
Collect results and analyse them
Conclusion
Show what do your results. Was your hypothesis correct?
Evaluation
How could you improve your experiment for next time?
Explosive
Substance that can explode if not handled correctly.
Harmful/Irritant
Not corrosive but will make the skin red or blister.
Corrosive
A chemical will attack your skin if you get it on you.
Highly Flammable
A chemical will catch fire easily.
Harmful to the Environment
Could cause harm to the environment and the organisms living in it (especially aquatic ones).
Toxic
This chemical is poisonous if consumed or breathed in!
Health Hazard
These substances are highly dangerous and life-threatening.
Oxidising Agent
Provides oxygen to make other substances burn more fiercely.
