1- Atrial contraction
Blood from lungs goes to left atrium and blood from body to right atrium simultaneously- atria contract increasing pressure forcing blood out into relaxed ventricles
2- Ventricular contraction
Atria relax and ventricles contract, increasing their pressure, shutting atrioventricular valves- blood forced out of ventricles and heart via pulmonary artery/aorta
3- Relaxation
Blood in pulmonary artery/aorta is high, shutting semilunar valves- ventricles and atria relax, opening atrioventricular valves and blood flows into them from pulmonary vein and vena cava
