Cotinuous Measurement
frequency (how man times a behavior occurs), duration (how long a child stays seated in class, latency (time between stimulus and repsonse) IRT (response time between two responses)
Discontinuous Measurement
partial (behaviors that occur partically/ not the whole time) and whole interval (behavior present the entire time), momentary time sampling (when the behavior occurs at the end of the interval
ABC Data
collect Antecedent (before behavior), Behavior (during behavior), and Consequence (after behavior)
Discrete-Trial Training
structured teaching skills to individual by breaking them into small managable parts
Naturalistic teaching
using a client’s preferred activities and natural environment to teach skills
Chaining
breaks donw a xomplex task into small steps and teaches them in a sequences
ex: washing hands steps
Shaping
teaching new behavior by systemically reinforcing successive approximations until the target behavior is reached
ex: teaching the word juice (juh-joo-juice)
discrimination training
procedure that teaches to differentiate between stimuli and responding appropriately to each one
(touching red object when asked to touch red)
Stimulus Control Transfer
Process of fading prompts so a behavior is no longer associate with an artifiical cue, but instead the natural environment
Prompting
instructual techinque that involves providing cues and assistance to the correcting response
Token system
visual, tangiable, and predictable system of positive reinforcment
