-이에요/-예요
Polite/formal Korean endings used to indicate "is" or "am" in sentences.
Sentence Structure
In Korean, the structure is ABC + [be], where ABC is a noun, unlike English where it is [be] + ABC.
Conjugation
Final consonant + -이에요 [-i-e-yo] for words with final consonants, and no final consonant (Only vowel) + -예요 [-ye-yo] for words ending in vowels.
Articles
Korean does not require articles like "a/an" or "the" as in English when forming sentences.
Question Formation
Raising the tone at the end of a sentence can turn a statement into a question in Korean.
