Engine
The power source of the kart that converts fuel into mechanical energy to drive the rear axle
Crankshaft
A rotating shaft inside the engine that converts the piston's reciprocating motion into rotational motion
Piston
A moving component inside the engine cylinder that moves up and down as a result of combustion and transfers force to the crankshaft
Connecting Rod
The engine component that connects the piston to the crankshaft and transfers the piston's motion
Cylinder
The engine chamber in which the piston moves and combustion occurs
Cylinder Head
The upper portion of the engine that contains the combustion chamber and seals the top of the cylinder
Crankcase
The lower portion of the engine that houses and supports the crankshaft and other internal components
Spark Plug
The engine component that creates the spark needed to ignite the air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber
Carburetor
The component that mixes fuel and air in the proper proportions and supplies the mixture to the engine
Throttle
An engine control that regulates airflow into the engine and therefore controls engine power
Airbox
A component connected to the carburetor that helps control and filter the air entering the engine
Exhaust Pipe
The pipe that carries exhaust gases away from the engine and affects engine performance
Fuel Tank
The container that stores fuel for the engin
