signal, pull up along the side of the vehicle ahead of the space until your rear bumper is aligned with the front of the parking space, check blind spots, turn the wheel to a 45 degree angle and back up, turn the wheel away from the curb then the car is 18 inches from the curb to straighten into the parking spot
