I wish + past simple    

se solo avessi / fossi

I wish + soggetto + past simple

• I wish I had more time. → Vorrei avere più tempo.

• I wish I lived in London. → Vorrei vivere a Londra.

• I wish I were taller. → Vorrei essere più alto.

• I wish you were here. → Vorrei che fossi qui.

do you mind + -ing   o if + present simple

ti dispiace…? Do you mind + -ing?

Do you mind opening the window?
→ Ti dispiace aprire la finestra?

Do you mind waiting a minute?
→ Ti dispiace aspettare un minuto?

👉 mind + verbo in -ing.

2. Do you mind if + present simple?

Do you mind if I sit here?
→ Ti dispiace se mi siedo qui?

Do you mind if I use your phone?
→ Ti dispiace se uso il tuo telefono?

be used to + -ing   

 essere abituato a

I'm used to getting up early. → Sono abituato ad alzarmi presto.

da non confondere con I used to —> ero solito fare

get used to + -ing    

abituarsi a

I'm getting used to waking up early. → Mi sto abituando ad alzarmi presto.

look( ing più comune ) forward to + -ing   

 non vedere l'ora di

be about to + verb  

  stare per fare qualcosa

• I'm about to leave. → Sto per andare via.

• She's about to call you. → Sta per chiamarti.

be willing to + verb    

essere disposto a fare qualcosa

Si usa quando la condizione è realistica/possibile.

SECOND CONDITIONAL    

If + past simple , would + verb

If I had more money, I would travel more.
Se avessi più soldi, viaggerei di più.

La situazione è immaginaria, improbabile o contraria alla realtà attuale.

Con be si usa spesso were

If I were you, I wouldn't do it.

THIRD CONDITIONAL    

If + past perfect , would have + past participle

If I had studied, I would have passed the exam.
Se avessi studiato, avrei passato l'esame.

Parli di qualcosa che non è successo nel passato e immagini un risultato diverso.
