Lymph Nodes

Small bean-shaped structures that act like security checkpoints, through which lymph passes to help remove harmful substances.

Cervical Nodes

Lymph nodes located in the head and neck region.

Axillary Nodes

Lymph nodes located in the armpits, arms, shoulders, and breast region.

Inguinal Nodes

Lymph nodes located in the groin and leg region.

Tonsils

Lymphatic structures near the nose and mouth that act like security guards at the entrance.

Thymus

A gland located in the chest (thoracic cavity) that helps train the immune system.

Spleen

An organ that acts as a blood filter, cleaning blood and destroying microorganisms.

Lymphatic System Functions

Drains extra fluids, defends against infections, and transports fat.
