Fibre content

The percentage below which a specific fibre does not need to be indicated on a label, unless it serves a specific purpose.

Elastane

A fibre often added in small amounts (such as $4\%$) to provide elasticity to a garment.

Care instructions

Text-based directions on a label, such as "Wash by hand" or "Cool iron if necessary," that explain how to maintain a garment.

Care symbols

Visual icons found on a clothing label that provide instructions for washing, bleaching, drying, and ironing.

Serial number

An identification number provided on a label, such as RN 2999.

Special instructions

Specific maintenance warnings on a label, such as "Wash separately" or "Do not dry-clean."

Quality symbols

Optional information found on a label used to indicate the standard or grade of the garment.

Required information

Data that must be included on a clothing label, such as brand name, size, fibre content, and care instructions.
