In what different ways can data be presented?
Tables, bar graphs, histograms, and frequency plots
Why are the different visualization methods useful?
They provide different perspectives of the same information, helping to answer various questions about the data
Range
The spread between the highest point and the lowest point; the difference between the maximum number and the minimum number(subtraction)
Frequency tables
Show how often each value appears, while dots provide a visual depiction of this information
Histogram
A graphical display of data using bars of different heights; displays the shape and spread of continuous sample data
What are the bars in a histogram for?
Each bar groups numbers into ranges; taller bars show that more data falls into that range
First step of making a histogram
Collect your data and decide on the number and size of bins(categories) you want to divide your data into

Count the number of data points that fall between each bin
Third step of creating a histogram
Draw a graph with the bins as the x-axis and the frequency counts as the y-axis

Draw vertical bars to represent the frequency count for each bin

You may have numbers that vary widely, so you don’t want to make a bar for every individual number
