Latency

The amount of time between when the action of an audio or midi signal is initiated and when the sound is actually heard.

Synthesizer

A hardware device that permits connection of a “master” midi device in the “in” port with multiple “out” ports.

Equalizer

an effects processor designed to accentuate and attenuate frequencies in desired ranges.

Compressor

device that reduces the dynamic range at predetermined levels.

Delay

an effect that adds a time delay to an audio signal.

Chorus

effects processor that can simulate subtle pitch and timing differences of the original signal.
