ICT in Philippine Teacher Education
The use of digital technologies, tools, and resources to prepare future teachers to effectively teach, assess learners, create learning materials, communicate, and continue their professional development.
ICT Competencies
The skills that pre-service teachers need to use technology to teach, assess, and communicate effectively.
Technology Integration
Using technology as part of the teaching and learning process to help students understand, practice, create, communicate, or solve problems.
Technology Use
The act of using a technological tool, distinguished from technology integration which specifically uses technology to support learning objectives.
ICT Pedagogy
Using technology with purpose to improve teaching and learning.
Digital Content
Learning materials presented through technology, such as videos, presentations, e-books, digital worksheets, infographics, simulations, and educational games.
Learning Resources
Materials that help teachers teach and students understand, which can be digital (videos, apps, online quizzes) or non-digital (books, charts, flashcards).
ICT for Assessment
The use of digital technology to assess, measure, and evaluate students' learning and performance.
Digital Citizenship
Being a responsible person when using technology and the internet, including respecting others, thinking before posting, avoiding cyberbullying, and protecting personal information.
ICT Ethics
Knowing what is right and wrong when using technology, such as respecting copyright, avoiding plagiarism, giving credit to creators, and respecting privacy.
ICT Safety
Protecting yourself and others online by using strong passwords, avoiding suspicious links, protecting personal information, and logging out of shared devices.
Blog
A platform that helps teachers learn from other professionals, share ideas, and reflect on their learning.
Wiki
A collaborative tool allowing teachers to work together, share information, and create content for professional development.
Podcast
An audio tool providing teachers convenient access to educational resources that they can listen to anytime using mobile devices.
Web-Conference
A technology allowing users to connect and communicate in real time with people in different locations through the internet.
Teacher Portfolio
An organized collection of a teacher's teaching records, documents, and results used to reflect on and improve teaching practice.
E-Portfolio
A digital collection of a teacher's work, records, and achievements.
Professional Writing
Writing that helps teachers organize their ideas clearly and develop a deeper understanding of what they write.
Teleconferencing
A system allowing teachers and experts in different locations to communicate and learn through audio or video technology.
Inclusive Education
