Mon college s’appelle St Thomas More à Blaydon, ce qui est un ville dans le nord-est de l’Angleterre. C’est un college mixte et catholique et il y a beaucoup des élèves qui sont sympa et travailleurs. Les cours commencent à neuf heures et ils finissent a seize heures. J’aime mon école parce que mon profs sont toujours hereux d’aider.

My school is called St Thomas More in Blaydon, which is a town in the north east of England. It is a mixed and Catholic school and there is a lot of students who are kind and hardworking. Lessons begin at 9am and finish at 4pm. I like school because my teachers are always happy to help.

What subjects do you like and what subjects do you not like?

Ma metière préférée est la physique car c’est très intéressant. Je ne comprend pas ceux qui disent elle est trop difficle. À mon avis, c’est vraiment facile alors mon notes sont bonnes. J’adore la biologie et les maths aussi, et je voudrais continuer à les étudier pour mon bac parce que ils seront utiles pour l’avenir. Cependent, je deteste l’informatique, c’est le pire! Je ne comprends rien mais mon prof est sympa.

My favourite subject is physics because it’s very interesting. I don’t understand those who say it’s too difficult. In my opinion, it’s really easy so my grades are good. I love biology and maths also, and I would like to continue studying them for my A-Levels because they will be useful for the future. However, I hate IT, it’s the worst! I understand nothing but my teacher is nice.

Qu’est-ce que tu as fait hier au college?

What did you do yesterday in school?

Hier, je suis arrivé au college à huit heures et demie. Puis, je suis allé mon premier cours, qui était la chemie. C’etait tellement barbant. Pendant la recre, j’ai bavardé avec mes amis. Ensuite, je suis allée les EPS. J’aime les EPS parce que je suis très sportif. Pour mon déjeuner, j’ai pris un sandwich. L’après-midi, après avoir mangé, j’avais la geographie et les maths.

Yesterday, I arrived at school at 8:30. Then, I went to my first lesson, which was chemistry. It was so boring. Then at break, I chatted with my friends. Then, I went to PE. I like PE because I am very sporty. For my lunch, I had a sandwich. In the afternoon, after having eaten, I had geography and maths.

Tu aimes l’uniform scholaire? Que prefererais-tu porter?

Do you like the school uniform? What would you prefer to wear?

Bien qu’il soit un peu démodé, pour moi, l’uniforme scolaire ce n’est pas trop mal. Je pense c’est une bonne idée car tout le monde portent le même si alors il y a moins d’intimation. Cependent, si j’avais le choix, je prefererais porter un pull et un jean parce que c’est plus confortable.

Although it’s a bit unfashionable, for me, the school uniform isn’t too bad. I think it’s a good idea because everyone wears the same thing so there is less bullying. However, if I had the choice, I’d prefer to wear a jumper and jeans because it is more comfortable.

Si tu etais directeur, que changerais tu?

If you were headteacher, what would you change?

Si j’etais directeur, je changerais beaucoup de choses. D’abord, les bijoux et le maquillage ne serait plus interdit car je pense que les éleves serait plus confiants. Aussi, je pense un bonne idée pour qu’il y ait moins des devoirs. Pendant que je pense faire les devoirs est important, je trouve ça nous recevons trop des devoirs alors nous sommes plus stressés.

If I was headteacher, I would change a lot of things. Firstly, jewellery and makeup would no longer be forbidden because I think students would be more confident. Also, I think it would be a good idea for there to be less homework. While I think doing homework is important, I find that we recieve too much homework so we are more stressed.

Si tu reussis a tes examens, qu’est ce que tu feras l’annee prochain?

If you pass your exams, what will you do next year?

J’espère obtenir les bonnes notes donc je peux continuer mes études à St Thomas More parce que je m’entends bien avec les profs et les élevès. Je ne voudrais pas faire un apprentissage car ce serait inutile pour mon avenir.

I hope to get good grades so I can continue my studies at St Thomas More because I get on well with the teachers and the students. I would not like to do an apprenticeship because it would be useless for my future.

Quels sont tes qualites et tes defauts?
What are your strengths and weaknesses?

À mon avis, je suis assez intelligente. En plus, je suis vraiment travailleuse à l’ecole et dans ma sport. D’autre part, je suis trop impatient et je me mets facilement en colère.

In my opinion, I am quite intelligent. In addition, I am very hardworking in school and sports. On the other hand, I am too impatient and I get angry easily.

Tu as fait un stage en enterprise?

Have you done work experience?

Oui, l’annee dernière, j’ai fait mon stage dans un école. Ce stage a duré une semaine en juillet et pendant mon stage, j’ai aidé les enfants avec l’anglais et les maths parce que ce sont mes matières les plus fortes. Ça m’a beaucoup plu parce que j’ai fini tôt tous le jours.

Yes, last year, I did my work experience in a school. The work experience lasted a week in July and during my work experience I helped the children with English and Maths because they are my strongest subjects. I liked it alot because I finished early every day.

Tu as un petit boulot?

Do you have a part time job?

Oui, quelquefois j’aide mon père dans son bureau. Il est comptable. Normalement, je travaille le week-end et je réponds au téléphone. J’aime travailler pour mon père parce que c’est intèressant et le bien payé en bonus!

Yes, sometimes I help my dad in his office. He is an accountant. Normally, I work on the weekend and I answer the telephone. I like working for my dad because it is interesting and the good pay is a bonus!

What job interests you?

Quand j’etais plus jeune, mon emploi de rêve était prof. Maintenant, je voudrais être medecin parce que j’adore aider les gens. Aussi, ma passion est la biologie ce qui serait vraiment utile pour ce travail.

When I was younger, my dream job was to be a teacher. Now, I would like to be a doctor because I love helping others. Also, my passion is biology which would be really useful for this job.

Quels sont les avantages et les inconvenients de ce metier?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of this job?

Je pense être medecin serait vraiment gratifiant parce que on peut aider les gens, y compris les enfants malades. C’est un bien payé aussi qui est important pour moi puisque je veux un grand maison à l’avenir. Cependant, pour être medecin, il faut aller à l’université qui est très chère et c’est un travail fatigant puisque il faut travailler tard le soir.

I think being a doctor would be really rewarding because you can help people, including sick children. It is well paid also which is important for me since I want to live in a big house in the future. However, to be a doctor, you must go to university which is very expensive and it is a tiring job as you must work late in the evenings.
