Article XIV, Section 19 (1)
The state shall promote physical education and encourage sports programs, league, competitions, and amateur sports, including training for international competition, to foster self discipline, teamwork, and excellence for the development of a healthy and alert citizenry.
Article XIV, Section 19 (2)
Mandates all education institutions shall undertake regular sports activities throughout the country in cooperation with athletic clubs and other sectors.
International Charter of Physical Education and Sports, UNESCO (1975)

A major goal of P.E. described as the ability to live a healthy, satisfying, and useful life, also known as the "Good life".
Physical development
An objective of physical education achieved through physical education activities.
Social development
An objective of physical education focused on social traits and understanding oneself to get along with others.
Emotional development
An objective of physical education involving self reflection and self expression.
Mental development
Objective to enhance mental capacity through cognitive development and knowledge that enhances critical thinking.
